Did you know you can get the largest proportion of sun damage just doing daily chores such as walking to your car or to the store? Using common sense, and routinely applying broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sun screens with decent SPF can help.
Here are some “how-to” tips:
Many cosmetics products (besides classic sun screens) have SPF in varying levels. Get in the habit of wearing them!
No matter what products you choose, you need to apply enough of it (read the labels for more information) and re-apply them every few hours (more often, if it’s hot, or you’re exercising).
SPF protection isn’t a substitute for sensible sun bathing. It’s still best to avoid the sun when it’s the strongest (10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.).
Cover arms, legs and feet and don’t forget all those hard to reach places where the sun still hits you.
Don’t leave home without sunglasses and a hat. They’re fashion statements, anyway!
