Tarte’s Tempting Summer Cosmetics Treats

When I think of Summer makeup, one of the companies I know will produce products I really want, is Tarte. They are 100% free of parabens, petro-chemicals, phthtalates, sulfates and synthetic fragrances, and their eco-friendly packaging helps reduce green house gas emissions by using recyclable or post-consumer recycled material. For Summer, Tarte Health Couture has some great new good for beautifying and good for your skin items you won’t want to miss. Here are a few of the newest and best:

Who doesn’t love makeup in gorgeous colors that stays put even when the temperature rises? Tarte has a great new set of limited edition, waterproof eye products called EyeQuatic $35.00. This affordable and impressive set features easy to use (and easy to love), products. You’ll get three lock roll eyeshadows (dual-ended cream-to-powder shadow in a wanded tube with brush/shimmer powder in rollerball on the other) in new shades: “Citrine” (gold); “Turquoise” (vibrant turquoise); and “Tanzanite” muted violet). These products use mineral pigments, water, and Vitamin E to make them good for your skin, as well as good looking on your eyes. The set also includes a travel-sized “lights, camera, splashes!” waterproof mascara in black. This does it all mascara is waterproof, and uses natural ingredients such as beeswas, mineral pigments, and carnuba wax instead of harsh chemicals. As a bonus, you get a stupendous, silky, “mod” head scarf in gold, purple, white, teal and black swirls that will make you crave a convertible with the top down.

This two for one waterproof shadow combo comes in great shades, including the latest color: a nude-colored “Sandstorm” that makes a great base or an “au nautrale” shadow, and a sexy kittenish shimmer with the application of a top coat of shimmery champagne from the rollerball on the other end. A full sized “Lights, Camera Splashes!: 4-in-one waterproof mascara is just $18.00 and comes in the cutest denim cover with gold embroidered anchor on the top.

Another one of my very favorite, Must-have” products now matter what time of year, is Eco_Cheek $28.00. This swivel-up stick of natural cheek stain is non-greasy, preservative, phthlate, mineral oil, gluten, nand GMO-free, but it does have a natural cassis fragrance and it’s dermatologist tested. The newest color is called “Shimmery Coral” and it’s everything you’d want in a blush. It’s sheer, believable, build-able color that really lasts all day without getting sticky or turning a wierd shade. This one is a super-flattering coral with a hint of shimmer. It makes every skin tone look lovely. It’s so flattering, it may be the only color you reach for every day, all Summer long (and beyond)! It also gives you about 15-20 seconds of blending time before it dries down for a natural finish — pure perfection! This product is free of alcohol so it won’t dry out your skin, and it doesn’t have oil that can clog your pores. It is infused with the tarte t5 super fruit complex™ for a healthy dose of natural antioxidants. This is a proprietary blend of the five most active superfruits: goji, acai, maracuja, acerola and pomegranate. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that despite huge, wonderful advances in self-tanning, I’m still squeamish about it. But Tarte has a good self tanner that does more than just make you look bronze, it also fits ugly, bathing-suit sabateur, celluite! celluFIGHT $40.00 5 fl. oz. comes in a bronze-y tube. What it does is multi-task for busy people. It contains “SkinTIGHT complex,” a proprietary, anti-cellulite complex that helsp to firm and tone skin, while improving elasticity. Other key ingredients include caffeine, algae extract, natural DHA self-tanner (Derived from plant sources) and 70% organic natural green tea fragrance (a combo of essential oils). This makes much more sense than slathering too many harsh chemicals on your skin, doesn’t it? The downside if there is any is that while you’re getting your faux bronze, you have to continue using the product for eight weeks to really see a huge difference. You will see some difference right away (including a nicer-looking skin tone) but remember: cellulilte is virtually impossible to eliminate, so we’ll take the chance, and keep on using it until the tube is finished!
