A new year has begun. Now is the time to re-think some of the things that bother you when it comes to your smartphone, tablets and other tech gadgets. We’ve found four unique tech tools –chargers and accessories that really can help make life easier, more successful, and less frustrating at home, at work and on the go.
My Desktop by Rapidx
If it is not too crazy to be in love with chargers, MyDesktop by Rapidx ($80) is a new love.
This multi-tasking, power-packed compact wireless charging stand is both a QI charging station and a power strip with two places to plug something in, and also three USB ports on the top.
It also functions as an upright phone stand. But it takes up less room than a smartphone phone does!
MyPort was released in October 2019 so it’s really new. For someone who wants to keep their workspace clean and neat, it is worth every penny.
Since the power bank is plugged into a regular socket with a surge-protector via a 5-foot cable, it’s constantly changing so it never runs out of “juice.”
There is a 10,000 mAh Qi-certified 10W wireless battery with 18W USB-C and USB-A ports to supply power for both your wireless and wired devices.
My Port Power Bank by Rapidx:
For anyone who finds chargers take up too much room, or don’t like charging their phone via a long cord the MyPort Power Bank by Rapidx ($80) is a desk-space-saving tech goodie.
It’s a phone stand, power bank, and wireless charger all in one also featuring a 10,000 mAh battery capacity.
The upright stand takes up almost no space. and it has a re-moveable power bank with QI charging as well as USB charging.
But the main thing that’s great is that you can stand your phone up in front of the power bank and see what you are doing while it’s being charged. Look at your emails, see a movie, call hands-free, whatever er you wish.
The MyPort Power Bank remove-able power bank is sleek and reasonably lightweight. You can enjoy fast, flat charging, or use the two 2 USB ports (1x USB-C PD 18W (input & output) and 1x standard USB port 18W.
These types of chargers make life easier all around. So clever!
The charger stand will sit on your desk powered up via a USB-C cable.
We think this is a great idea for couples and family vacations where everyone has something else that they want to charge. It also keeps your desk so much more organized.
If there is a downside, it’s that while there is a power indicator on the power bank, there isn’t a power button and you can’t tell how much charge there is unless the power bank is in the charging stand.
We would have liked the option to plug the charging base into a wall scocket as well as into a USB-C. port. (as with the newer MyDesk.) Otherwise, it’s nearly perfect.
Works with all Qi-enabled devices. iPhone 8 or newer, Samsung S6 or newer. For a full list of Qi-enabled devices,

Power For ALL on the Road:
There’s nothing more annoying than having to fight for a slot when it comes to car chargers. And until now, charging in the back of most cars was impossible.
The RapidX X5 Plus 5 Port USB Car Charger with Detachable Cable ($35) won a best of show award at CES in 2019 for a reason, This charger has two parts.
Plug the main part into your car’s lighter, and then extend the 6’ extension cable into the back of the car. You can secure it with the attached clip to the back of the backseat.
Three passengers in the back can charger their devices, as well as two people in the front.
One of the ports is able to accommodate a USB c plug to support fast charging and c-equipped laptops, tablets, and other devices. The next time you travel with the kids, you won’t be hearing ‘are we there yet?” anymore!

Back of the Phone:
let’s say you’re going to a conference, or perhaps, a networking party or maybe a bar or club. You want to use your phone but you also need to have some business card or a credit card (or cash) with you. For that, you still have to fumble with a wallet.
Not anymore! Cari by Rapidx is a universal 3 in 1 Phone Wallet with Card Holder, Stand, and Strap
Affix it to the back of your phone, and you can keep three cards (or some cash) in the pocket. However, it also has a strap that lets you use it is a ring holder or a stand.
The Cari comes in several colors (our was red) with a “Gucci” type fabric stripe. Classy Cari! At just ($20) it makes a cute little gift idea as well.
Key to Your “IOS” Devices:
The HyperDrive Keychain ($25) adds extra convenience to your chargers. It lets you charge into a USB-C port to charge your Lightning devices. The clever keychain design means that a charging cord (for IOS) will always be at the ready.
You can get the HyperDrive cords in a keychain, a lanyard ($28) to wear around your neck. But the point is that it clips with a lobster claw clasp to a handbag, briefcase, or even your jeans.
The keychain doesn’t charge your devices, it’s the cord to connect them to a power bank via a USB-C charging slot.
To use it, simply unclip it from wherever it’s hanging. UInscrew the aluminum top, and pull out the USB-C and Lightning connectors.
There will be no more uncharged phones and devices and no more tangled cables in your future as long as you don’t forget to bring a power bank!
In our tests, the cap did fall off the unit onto the floor as we were walking around, so be sure it’s screwed on tight!
However, the tough bulletproof fabric and aluminum housing ensures long term durability under extreme wear and tear.
This little device may not change the world, but it will make your life easier and more fun! For more information and to purchase visit The Hyper web site.
