Even if you’re not a gamer or a techie, today’s high tech gadgets can make life so much easier, interesting, successful, and fun. Advicesisters.com knows that budgets are tight this year. So instead of suggesting pricey tech products, we’re offering some terrific, tempting tech treats that are truly affordable. They’ll make 2021 more satisfying!
Kingston DuoTraveler Flash Drives:
With smartphones and computers and other tech gadgets taking up space with 4k video and high-res photos, you need help before your hard drive is full! The Kingston DataTraveler Flash drives let you export, import, move files, photos, videos, and more without a cable to transfer data between the device and a PC.
A unique tempting tech treat is The Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3.0 G2 microUSB and USB Type-A Flash Drive for Android OTG might be the tiniest gift you can give. It’s slightly smaller than a standard paperclip. However, this tiny flash drive will hold 32, 64 or 128GB of your data. The flash drive is so compact, there’s even a tiny hook to hang it from a ring (maybe with a paperclip) so you don’t lose it!
I used it to transfer a bunch of videos off my hard drive. But it’s great for traveling as well. Kingston’s DataTraveler® microDuo Flash is also great for tablets and smartphones that support the USB OTG (On-The-Go) functionality. The included cap protects the micro USB connector from damage. 32GB, 64GB, 128GB.

lip balm for size only, not included with your flash drive a tempting tech treat or treats
If you have a smartphone, tablet, or other device with a C port, there’s also the Kingston DataTraveler Duo Type-A+ to Type C. Our 64 GB flash drive. As you can see from my photo, it’s no larger than a lip balm but it’s still a powerful way to move data from videos and photos to documents you want to take with you on vacay without weighing you down.

Zvox Headphones Help You Hear Voices, Not “Noise”
We have reviewed quite a few headphones on advicesisters.com. Read: How to Compare and Buy Audio Equipment- How We Test Sound). Sometimes they’re good. But less frequently, they’re amazing. ZVOX falls into the latter category for performance, comfort, style, and more. We just reviewed these recently in detail (see full review story), but they deserve a place in advicesisters.coms’ tech holiday story as well.
The ZVOX Model AV50 AccuVoice Noise Cancelling Headphones come in four colors and have a beautifully balanced sound that makes you feel as though the music is surrounding you. The noise cancellation is also great.
While I was testing these headphones there were workmen literally banging on my metal balcony doors with a hammer. The ZVOX AV50 headphones in the noise-canceling mode made it not just bearable, but almost blissful.
I Hear You! AcuVoice Technology:

The Zvox AV50 headphones are so comfortable I can wear them all day
The ear cups are well padded. I wore them for hours without feeling pressure on my ears. And Bluetooth pairing, that was a breeze.
But the AVOX AcuVoice technology is the star of these headphones. Now that so many people are at home and using video conferencing, the ZVOX AccuVoice technology helps to boost voice clarity while they reduce unwanted noise. So the kids can be playing or someone can be (usually yelling) into a cell phone in the same room, and you will still be able to hear your call or conference without having to crank up the volume to detrimental levels.
The foldable headphones come in a slim, lightweight clamshell-style carry case with instructions, a micro-USB charging cord, and a wired cord. The Srp. is $150 but noise-canceling headphones of this quality usually cost a lot more. We did see them on HSN and Amazon for a little less. These are well worth the investment to make life easier, more successful, and more fun. For more information visit: https://zvox.com/
D-Link High Tech Outdoor Plug:
You want to turn on your outdoor lighting but it’s cold or raining outside? The D-link Outdoor Wi-Fi Smart Plug (DSP-W320-US) with the My -Link app will do it for you!
Many smart plugs only work with a non-optional hub. The D-Link Outdoor Smart Plug works with your Wi-Fi and you don’t need a hub to use it!
The water-resistant plug holds two different devices plus a USB power outlet. The plug is rugged and can manage two devices individually. Or let the lights shine with automatic scheduling. It works with Google Assistant, MyDlink smart home devices plus IFTT. This is the type of tech gadget I love.
My Dlink App:
Above is a screenshot of my phone’s MyDLink app. The app was a little grumpy at first. However, eventually, both my Alexa and my phone got the hang of it and it was smooth sailing. You can even schedule individual on/off routines for any outdoor electrical appliance and set countdown timers
The IP54 Smart Plug is specifically made for the outdoors rated: 125V/15A. It’s dust & water-resistant. You can get over-the-air firmware upgrades too. For a mere $50 it is a year-round gift idea. Get one for yourself –you’ll regret it if you don’t. For more information visit the DLink Website
For the Germophobe:
Under the category of a tech gadget for the person who has everything, is the $49 Klear Cap. The world’s first and only self-cleaning cap that fits any size wide-mouth reusable water bottle. KLEAR uses a 275nm UV-C LED light to neutralize up to 99.9999% of harmful and odor-causing germs that might be in your water bottle. And it does it in less than 3 minutes with a one-time 30-day charge. That’s about 25 sanitation cycles.
Why spend close to $50 for a rechargeable water bottle cap? Well, for starters, if you dislike the metallic taste of water bottles, Klear Cap gets rid of that taste and smell. But for the person who is afraid of things that might not be 100% clean, this is “water bottle insurance.”
Fill any wide mouth water bottle and screw the charged (via a unique magnetic cord) Klear Cap on the bottle. Press the top button to begin sanitizing. Shake the bottle to make sure all the water is reached by the UV light.
Klear Cap won’t work on every water bottle, but for the germaphobe and hard to gift folks, these are tempting tech treats. They just might make life a bit nicer and perhaps, safer. For more information visit https://oakandhearth.com/pages/klearcap
