At the holiday makeup preview with Chase Aston, for The Body Shop, editors got a bonus — a sneak peek of a new, chocolate-centric bath and body collection called: “Chocomania.” Who doesn’t love chocolate? We were going nuts for the smell of these products right there in the store! We were asked to keep it under wraps, for a while, but now I’m happy to say they’re available on The Body Shop Web Site and in The Body Shop, stores.
The Chocomania collection is the perfect Valentine’s Day pick-me-up. The collection includes the usual (and excellent) Body Shop bath and body goodies: A 7.75 oz. body scrub; ($18.00 6.7 fl. oz. ); Body Butter (featuring 48 hour hydration -$18.00 6.7 oz.); Shower Cream ($8.00 an 8.4 fl. oz) ; Body Lotion ($12.00 8.4 fl. oz); 3.5 oz. heart-shaped exfoliating soap for $4.00, and a tiny, 0.3 oz. tub of Lip Butter ($4.00) all incredibly and sinfully scented with the smell of milk chocolate (or chocolate milk, if you prefer). The chocolate brown tubes have gorgeous graphics that lok like a heart-shaped nut oozing with liquid milk chocolate. The pump top tube for the body lotion showcases a cafe au lait creme while the shower cream in a clear, flip-top bottle is elegantly pearled.
My favorite piece in the collection, mostly because it’s heart-shaped, is the Chocomania Soap ($4.00 3.5 oz.). It looks like a big pink heart, but like the rest of the collection, it smells like milk chocolate. This non-fattening treat for your skin is a creamy soap contains hydrating cocoa butter and some invigorating, exfoliating coconut shell. If you’re going to exfoliate, this is the most decadent way to do it!
You can also get a bag of mini heart soaps for $6.00 — cute! These are nice to have on hand (so stock up, because these are limited edition) as a nice little thank you for all those in your life (add the solid, chocolate scented lip balm and make it a terrific twosome). Chocolate is beloved by most people, and no occasion is necessary to enjoy it, but these chocolate bath goodies are a non-fattening and longer lasting, pampering gift idea that makes the Valentine’s box of chocolates seem pale, in comparison.
It’s hard to suggest just one item as a must-have, but since Winter is making many people suffer with dry, itchy skin, I’m going for the Chocomania Body Butter. It contains 13 Community Fair Trade ingredients – the most The Body Shop has ever put into one product. They claim it provides 48-hour hydration, and while I can’t quite quantify that much, I can say that it will make your skin feel softer and smoother, hydrated, happy, and yes, it smells like a tub of chocolate for your skin. It absorbs quickly, but the chocolate fragrance will linger a while, to delight you. Yummy! 
The Chocomania Body Lotion in a pump bottle is more lightweight, which those who don’t need so much hydration, might prefer, but it is still is silky, moisturizing and chocolate-scented. lotion has a decadently chocolate-y scent. If you’re going to moisturize, you might as well do it with something that smells amazing.
What more can I say? These are so covet-able, and sinfully fun! The Body Shop is offering us their own, little Valentine, in this an all-over body pampering, chocolate-scented collection! But it is limited edition and it is not going to last…so get yours at your favorite Body Shop Store, before they’re all snapped up by other romantics and chocolate lovers.
