The Secret To the Curls You’ve Been Craving All Your Life @Conair

October 26, 2013 By: Alison Blackman

I’ve known a secret for a week or two
Nobody knows, just we two

Listen, do you want to know a secret?
Do you promise not to tell, whoa, oh
Closer, let me whisper in your ear
Say the words you long to hear

Song: Do You Want To Know A Secret? By The Beatles, Songwriters Paul McCartney and John Lennon

curl secret boxFreud wanted to unlock the secret to what women wanted, and Nostradamus wanted to unlock the secrets of the Universe, but Conair has unlocked the secret to something women have wanted for centuries:   perfect and safe, curls.

Who can forget the scene in Little Women where Jo tries to curl Meg’s hair but only burns the ends off in a great tragedy?!  Lucille Ball gives a perm to a group of  ladies who lunch in the delightful 1940’s movie “Fuller Brush Girl” and all their hair falls out.  And in real life, what women hasn’t walked out with confidence, head full of curls, only to look in the mirror an hour later, to realize her hair is now just stringy and limp?

Yes, it’s true.  Women have tried rags, curling rods, scary electronic contraptions, caustic chemicals, perms, and tons of different curlers, curling irons, and more, to get their hair to curl in just the right way, and to stay curled. Alas, most of the methods of curling hair either harm it, or fail don’t perform very well.  But recently, The Advice Sisters were invited to an editor’s event to personally try out a new heat styling tool called the Infiniti Pro by Conair Curl Secret (Srp. $99.99) , an electronic curling heat styler that really does change the way you’ll think about curling your hair.

Conair-Curl-SecretEverything about this heat styling device is radically different from a traditional curling iron. As you can see from the photo, your hair isn’t wrapped around a traditional cone shaped rod. The unit is shaped like a purple scepter with a n opening and a hole with a 3/4″ tourmaline ceramic “curl chamber” in the middle of it.  I will go into the details in a minute, but you don’t wrap your hair around the chamber yourself, your hair is automatically drawn into it. This sounds scary and honestly, it is a bit daunting, but once you get the hang of it, your hair is gently held, timed and heated from all directions in that chamber to form a perfect curl.

Here’s a basic how-to:  You position your hair in the unit with the opening of the curl chamber facing towards your head, feeding in a  1/2″ to 1″ section of hair a minimum of 1″ away from your scalp (or further down if you wish. where you want the curl to begin). Close the handles and your hair automatically is drawn into the chamber. This is where it get sa little scary, but this is where you have to have faith and you can’t hesitate. Just breathe and let you hair be drawn it (*there is an anti-tangle feature that immediate stops drawing your hair into the unit if you open the handles, you can just ease whatever hair has been drawn into the hair chamber, out).  Hold the handles closed until you hear a rapid beep signally that the curl is ready, and open to release the perfect curl.

When time is up the chamber releases your hair and you get a perfect curl.  The device is suitable for all hair types and lengths, and there are three timer settings at 8. 10 and 12 seconds and 2 temperature settings (low(365ºF and high 400ºF),  and high) so you can adjust the curls to your liking. You may have to practice with the different settings, but that’s part of the fun.  For safety, there is also an auto off feature, a 6″ professional swivel cord, a brushless motor for precision styling and longer life, and an easy twist barrel cleaner, plus an indicator light  (so you know it’s on, and ready). The tourmaline ceramic technology means your curls will be shiny, soft and smooth, not frizzy or fly-away.

Since this is such a unique device, I am including the 30-second promo for this device (no I am NOT getting compensated by Conair for this advertisement). But I think you need to see it in action. So here it is if you choose to click on it:

For women who crave lots of curls, this Infiniti Pro Curl Secret by Conair really could be a dream come true. I watched dozens of women with all types of hair use this device, and it worked beautifully on all of them.  I really, really was impressed.  Since I already have curly hair and spend a great deal of time trying to smooth it out, walking out with a head full of bouncy curls made me feel more like “Annie” than I really wanted to, but the curls lasted until I washed them out, and believe me, this little purple powerhouse really makes curls come alive.  If curls are the look you want, the Curl Secret is one I’m sharing, and you are going to want. It will also make a great holiday gift idea.

Don’t keep the secret to yourself, pass it on!  The Curl Secret is currently available at drug stores and mass market retailers and online retailers like Amazon
