The Gift of Music!
If you are looking for a special treat, or a special gift for someone, look no further than timelife.com. They have lots of music compilations to choose from. I’m suggesting two that I really think are a great value and a lot of fun to listen to over and over and over again!
Forever 60’s:
If you’re thinking about what you can gift someone for Valentine’s Day, a birthday, or “just because,” consider music! Time Life products include a ton of great music collections on CD.
While I am writing this I am taking a genuine trip down memory lane to the 1960s with a whopping 9 CDs in a collection from Timelife.com. So many of these songs are classics that everyone knows (e.g. Elvis: “Are you Lonesome Tonight?” Roby Orbison’s “Oh Pretty Woman” or the Shirelle’s “Will You Love Me Tomorrow?” These are so fabulous, whether you’re from that era, just love the music, or want to share your favorite songs with your children. There are literally hours and hours of the songs. You will be singing, twisting, and slow dancing to these incredible hits. Each collection comes in a box with a nice booklet about the songs and the artists. There’s something for every moment in your life, from love to breakups to other topics.
The timelife.com Boxed Set:
Our editorial sample was the smaller (9 CD) box ($150 with free shipping) with 5 different themes. but there are larger versions with 308 Songs on 19 CDs. That is a ton of music! Our boxed set included the following: “Put a Little Love in Your Heart” (relationships, dating songs); “Cherish” (love songs); “Come a Little Closer” (this one has a song I really like called “You Don’t Own Me” by Lesley Gore –check it out)! “Only the Lonely” (for example, Wedding Bell Blues by the Fifth Dimension). And finally a bonus CD: “Motown’s 60’s Classics” (Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, the Supremes and more).

Timelife.com Soul:
I happen to love soul music including some of the earlier songs from the 1950s and early 60s. You probably have heard a lot of the beloved songs in Time Life’s Forever Soul CD Collection.
The Forever Soul collection includes 139 original classics on 9 CDs including everyone’s favorite “Respect” by Aretha Franklin, “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye, “(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay” by Otis Redding, “I Got You (I Feel Good)” also the great“In The Midnight Hour” by Wilson Pickett and lots more. You might know more of these songs than you realized. The collection is split up into four CDs: Get On Up (my favorites are Respect by Aretha Franklin and “Soul Man” by Sam & Dave).
“Shout!” (the fabulous “Shout! Parts 1 & 2” and “It’s Your Thing” by the Isley Brothers). “Last Night” has breakup and makeup songs such as Mustang Sally by Wilson Pickett. The last CD is entitled: “It’s All Right.” This one so many great songs I can’t name just one, but there are “I Heard it Through the Grapevine” by Glady’s Knight and the Pips and “Shop Around” by the Miracles. Two all-time popular classics.
The Forever Soul collection also included a bonus CD “The Best of Sam Cooke” with songs like “Chain Gang” and “Twistin the Night Away.” All in all, there are (if I counted correctly) 155 songs on 9 CDs along with a 24-page booklet featuring photos and stories about the artists and their hit songs. Each song is the original, with no covers.
Music Is a Lasting Gift:
Give the gift of music. These CDs are a one-size-fits-all gift that keeps bringing joy. Now that I have listened to all of these songs I treasure this collection. I know your special someone will as well. Pop the CD into your computer and dance the night away with or without a partner.
