Did you know that the first official day of Spring this year is Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 11:33 A.M. I always thought it was March 21st. However, astronomers insist that the vernal Equinox is March 20th and is the arrival of the Vernal (Spring) Equinox. Therefore, the 20th is the first day of Spring. Whether it’s Sunday, March 20th, or Monday the 21st really doesn’t matter. What does, is that the vernal equinox is arriving soon. Now is the time to think about the transition of your skincare and beauty routines for the days ahead.
The Vernal Equinox:
In case you don’t know, the Vernal Equinox is the two times in the year when the Sun is exactly above the Equator and day and night are of equal length; also, either of the two points in the sky where the ecliptic (the Sun’s annual pathway) and the celestial equator intersect. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for this. I’m one of those people who truly hate dark days and nights. The extra hours of daylight energize me. How about you?
Transition Your Skincare and Zap Zits!
You don’t need to be a teenager to have breakouts. In fact, just having to wear a mask all the time can cause “maskne.” Stress, hormonal changes, some skincare, sunscreen, and the change in the seasons can surprise you with a “zit.”
Clean beauty company August + Monroe has an interesting product that conceals and dries up zits called “Blemish Camouflage”. It can be used under your foundation. The slant-tip silicone top on the swivel-up tube dispenses a thick, white gel. But wait! Rub just a tiny bit of the cream over the offending zit and it morphs into a tone to (mostly) match your skin. On me, it was a warm-ish flesh tone and far better than most of the one-color-fits all blemish products I’ve tried previously.
At night, you can just leave the white without blending it. I like that it is soothing but also helps to heal with anti-inflammatory ingredients like Vitamin C, Squalane Oil, Aloe, and Arnica. It’s also vegan, cruelty/gluten/fragrance-free, and the silicone tip apparently prevents bacteria. You may or may not be using this every day, but if you do, the pen can last quite a while (3-6 months). You can get it on amazon. For more information visit the August + Monroe website.
Green Caviar For Your Face:
If you read my stories on advicesisters.com you know that I love caviar-centric skincare for so many reasons. But I never tried anything with “green caviar.”
What is Green Caviar?
Green caviar is not caviar from fish eggs, it’s an algae that looks a bit like caviar. It’s rich in vitamins A and C which help boost collagen production and reduce the appearance of fine lines. it has minerals like phosphorus, magnesium, copper, calcium, and polysaccharides which help the skin to lock in moisture. It’s high in omega fatty acids which help boost collagen repair and even out skin tone and proteins and amino acids help with elasticity and firmness.
AveSeena Oil Helps Transition Your Skincare For Spring:
For those who need to know, the AveSeena Green Caviar Facial Oil Exlir is vegan, gender-inclusive, certified clean and of course dye, synthetic fragrance, and cruelty-free. I’ve been told by the PR literature that it is the only oil to feature the ingredient Matrixyl 3000™ (mainly used in cream-based skincare products).
The black bottle with dropper tip dispenses an oil with a significant herbal scent which I found very pleasing and energizing. And, I like this oil even more because marine botanicals are some of my favorites. After all, the sea and it’s bounty is full of natural nutrients.
After a long Winter, your skin needs extra help. If you are worried about fine lines and wrinkles and dull “aging” skin, it’s good that this is for all skin types. This new product helps with “inflammaging” (inflammation + Aging). It supports the 4 pillars of the skin barrier: physical, chemical, skin microbiome, and immune wellness for ultimate balance,”
AveSeena currently has six products*: Gentle Gardenia Anti-Pollution Gel Cleanser*; Honeyactive Beauty Mask; Green Caviar Facial Oil Elixir*; Supreme Recontour Eye Concentrate; Ageless Perfection Cream*; and Micro Algae Immun-B3 Serum*. All products are Clean Certified, Dermatologist and ophthalmologist-tested, synthetic fragrance and dye-free, cruelty-free and immunologist formulated. Beso Earth’s Kiss CBD Skincare:
Why should people with bathtubs have all the fun with bath bombs? Shower users can rejoice! We can enjoy the same aromatherapy benefits with Atma Botanica’s Shower Steamers. Atma is a small women-owned business. I received a box of these steamers and when I opened the box the scents wafted right to my nose. There was just a moment when I just wanted to drop what I was doing to test in a shower right away!
I restrained myself, but that evening I followed the instructions, I unwrapped one of the shower steamers and placed it in the shower near the stream of water (not under it). As the water hit the round steamer it bubbled and the essential oils were released into the water and air. Heavenly! Even better, there wasn’t any slick residue left on my shower floor.
Each of the shower bombs has a beautiful and distinct scent and a mixture of essential oils, but, basically exotic spices (Venus), lavender (Moon), tropical pineapple (Earth) citrus (Sun) , peppermint (Saturn), lemongrass (Eclipse),.Get a box of 12 shower bombs for a bit of self-love at its best, or maybe for mother’s day (that’s coming up too). https://atmabotanicashop.com/
Transition your Skincare With Beso Body Milk:
Beso means “kiss” in Spanish. Beso Earth’s Kiss CBD Wellness is a company with three” organically sourced, professionally produced, emotionally driven, CBD products.” I did find the phrase a bit obtuse. However, more confusing is that the products are “CBD Wellness” products. Therefore I suppose they have CBD in them plus other ingredients. But CBD isn’t listed on the website nor are the other ingredients.
However, the press information informed me that there is white shea butter, kukui, grapeseed, tea tree, black seed, turmeric, lavender, frankincense, myrrh, mustard seed, and vitamin E. That is also in small print on the CBD Body Milk pump bottle (the product on the right in the photo that I tried).
Knowledge Center:
On the website under “Knowledge Center” (which I wish there was a lot more of), it says that the Beso Earth’s Kiss products are 99% Pure CBD (Cannabidiol) Isolate derived entirely from Industrial Hemp Oil that was extracted from the mature stalks and stems of the plant. If you are worried it will get you high, that’s unlikely, although it could theoretically show up on a drug test.
Also confusing is that the Beso wellness website only talks about using the Beso CBD Body Milk for your hair and scalp but on the packaging, it is for face and body. So now I’m really confused!
I can say that the oxygen-free packaging in a pump is nicely done and the scent is also non-gender specific. I liked the way the product felt on my skin and there are some great ingredients. Therefore, I’ll say that the product is good on its own merits. However, until there is more information, I am not as comfortable as I’d like to be with Beso Earth’s Kiss.
