Zen is a state of focus incorporating mind and body. It’s a way of being, a state of mindfulness outside of daily thoughts, essential to meditation. Check out the new Muse 2. This is a personal meditation assistant that can give you accurate, real-time feedback on what’s happening in your brain and body while you meditate and unleash your inner awareness.. You can boost your outer wellbeing and benefit your body, with some unique products by Rahua, featuring ingredients directly from the Amazonian rainforest
Zen From The Inside:
The Muse 2 looks so simple: a headband you wear on your forehead, tucked behind your ears. Using this with an app, it’s a DIY tool to help you learn how to meditate, and do it better and more effectively
The Muse 2 can help you find better posture, learn how to use your breath to calm yourself, tune your heart rate, and get real-time brainwave feedback to help you learn how to focus.
Muse 2 has a bunch of sensors (2 on the forehead, 2 behind the ears plus 3 reference sensors). These detect and measure the activity of your brain.
Information is transmitted to your app and once your meditation session is done theoretically you can review your results and track your progress.
You might say that if you use Muse 2 for a while, you will learn more about how your brain and your body works. and find a real path to inner peace.
To help keep you motivated and improving, Muse also gives you points, goals, challenges and bonuses to strive for.
With every session, you earn points and can adjust your goal to fit your needs
You’ll get up to 5 hours of continuous use after charging the unit with the included micro USB cable.
note: two users can use one Muse 2 but you cannot sync two different Muse 2 devices to one app.
My Muse 2 Tests:
My experience with Muse 2 was challenging. I love the idea, but as with many apps synced with tech gadgets, often the app promises a lot but doesn’t always deliver it.
The meditation sessions didn’t seem to record, although I was able to use it for guided meditation without the headset, that really does defeat the purpose.
On the other hand, attempting to meditate for the initial three minutes required, seemed like a year, and made me very mindful of how my brain and body don’t switch off easily.
When the app is working properly (connected to your mobile device via Bluetooth) it can help you as biofeedback does, giving you a genuine look at what’s going on inside your mind and body (heart rate) as you meditate.
If you are already into meditation or really want to get into it this year, the Muse @ itself is totally cool. For the $249 price, you have to commit to using it regularly and properly to get your money’s worth.
Your Outer Zen:
While you’re learning how to improve your “cool” there are additional ways to increase “zen” on the outside, too. Products that offer positive sensations are essential to our outer zen.
Rahua® (pronounced Ra-Wa) by Amazon Beauty® has products with ingredients from the Amazonian Rainforest.
The ones I’ve tried so far including a Rahua Elixir for hair have a distinctive, Palo Santo oil in it. The scent is green, slightly herbal and uplifting.
Palo Santo Incense Sticks.
If you really want to scent your outer space and clear your mind and negative thoughts, try the Rahua Palo Santo Incense Sticks ($22). They’re 7 Palo Santo wooden sticks in a gold-rimmed white box.
Palo Santo, literally means “holy wood” in Spanish. It’s used in South America in much the same way as White Ceremonial Sage is used in North America in rituals going back to the Incas.
The rising smoke of the lit sticks is believed to enter the energy field of ritual participants to clear misfortune, negative thoughts and to chase away evil spirits. I
