Step 1: A magic concealer-foundation. It comes in a round compact with see-through lid in four shades: baby Face (fair tones); Almond Joy (medium to olive); Café Ole (rich coffee skin tones) and Sweet Cocoa (deep, dark skin tones). I like the consistency as a concealer, and the compact is nicely sized for a concealer, but if you tried to use it as a full coverage foundation, you’d use it up pretty quickly. Best to use it as a spot foundation and a concealer for under-eyes.
Step 2: Apply a Blush/Bronzer (depending upon which shade you get). There are three: Happy Trails Bronzer (sun kissed bronze); Sassy (natural rose) and the one I tried, Absolutely Peach ( a bright pink-y peach that looks light in the see-through round compact,but can be layered for a warm and flattering flush. Absolutely Peach is neither too orange nor too pink–just perfect on fair skin. You can blend it out for a sheer look, or add more for a more intense flush. A squat, mini-kabuki brush is included to get you going–and it is the perfect size for your makeup bag.
Step 3: Add the Eye Bling Trio . It comes in one color: Slate. The color isn’t quite brown, not quite grey. To my eye, it has a slight sensibility of soot–which actually makes for a very unusual and sexy eye look. You can use this buildable color as a light wash on your lids, or use it on your eyebrows, or wet it for a deep liner or just a more dramatic lid look. There is a brow brush included, which I immediately commandeered for a liner brush. The color may look challenging, at first, but I assure you, it’s a winner–and a must-have for a modern fall look.
Step 4: add the mascara! Urban Cowgirl’s mascara in this kit is travel-sized–and the perfect size for a makeup bag. The color is one of the deepest, inky-est blacks I’ve ever tried. It’s to-die-for great!
Step 5: Apply the Whipstick. This is a shimmery, natural looking lip gloss with just a bare hint of color. There are three shades: Skinny Dip (light nude); Luscious (neutral with hint of magenta) and the one I tried: Lush (bright clear pink). The lip gloss adds instant allure, but it’s a bit sticky. If you don’t mind that, you’ll find that it also stays put a long time–a real plus.
When you put the entire look together, you can make it romantic, or sassy, by adding more or less of each product. The quality is there, and these trendy products can be purchased individually, too.
