Thinning hair is no laughing matter. It can happen any time for a myriad of different reasons from stress, to skin issues, hormonal issues, or even illnesses. It’s happening to me. I haven’t been able to really find a concrete cause or cure. In the meantime, I’m doing my best to give my hair as much TLC as I can. Vegamour sent me shampoo, conditioner, and Biotin Gummies to try. Here’s how it is going:
The photo above shows you the complete range of Vegamour Hair products. However, in this story, I’m focusing on the GRO Revitalizing Shampoo and GRO Revitalizing Conditioner -$74/kit (plus Gro Biotin Gummies For Hair).
What’s in the Products?
The pink flip-top tubes of shampoo and conditioner are full of nurturing plant actives that are somewhhatat exotic such as wild-harvested marula, baobab and ximinea oils. But the star ingredient is proprietary Karmatin™ (vegan keratin). The clean beauty products are color-safe too!
A key ingredient in both the GRO Revitalizing Shampoo and Conditioner is microencapsulated vegan b-SILK™ protein. This physically bonds to hair follicles and remains attached to strands even after rinsing. The company suggests that these products are the world’s first chemical-free keratin hair treatment products. Wild harvested marula oil, organic murumuru butter, and ximenia oil help to condition, hydrate, and fight damaging free radicals without imparting pore-blocking residue.
Suitable for all hair types and safe for color-treated hair, these sulfate-free formulas work best together and in conjunction with GRO Hair Serum or Foam (which I didn’t try) for optimal results.
My Test:

after using Vegamour Shampoo & Conditioner
In my test, I was instructed to use a quarter-size amount of shampoo and conditioner and massage them into my scalp for 60 seconds, then leave the products on another minute (or more) to let everything absorb as much as possible.
I noticed that my long hair was feeling kind of dry after the shampoo, but with the conditioner, it ended up being less tangled. However, when I used my blow dryer I began to see frizz. This was disappointing as I didn’t really want to use a hot tool afterward.
Results?
With just one test, I can’t say that my hair looks thicker or feels any better than with other products I routinely use, but both were pleasant to use. I like that these are 100% vegan, clean, and cruelty-free; color-safe, free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, gluten, and artificial fragrance, but they are pricey. Costs for a range of products can be quite pricey (over $200). I received my products as editorial samples, but I’d try them to see if they worked as a consumer if I was really concerned about my hair.
On the other hand, for what it would cost for a full range of products, you might first consider visiting a dermatologist or hair specialist.
The heart-shaped gummies in my photo are Vegamour GRO Biotin Gummies for Hair. This is another way to help your way to better hair health.
When I opened the pink glass jar and sniffed the gummies, they smelled medicinal. But the next time I opened the jar it had disappeared. They have just a bit of a sugary taste (supposedly natural strawberry but I didn’t taste much flavor) and are 11 calories per gummy. And, you only need one per day.
For those who need to know, these gummies are 100% Vegan, Gluten-free, Hormone-free, and Gelatin-free. You get 30 gummies but I suspect you’d need more months of the products to really see results. Therefore, a One-Time Purchase is $28.00 (if you subscribe you get a discount and free shipping).
Advice and Warning:
If you try hair products and other over-the-counter remedies and don’t see a difference after a couple of months, your hair issues might be masking something more serious. Please see a qualified hair specialist.
In Summary:
Hair issues are tricky. The company claims 76% less hair shedding in 90 days. But everyone’s skin, hair, eyebrows, and lashes are different and there could be more underlying factors for hair thinning or hair loss. In those cases, pills and potions won’t solve the problem. What works for one person might not work for another.
However, some hair products can make whatever hair you have, look better. In all fairness, I only tried everything once before going to publish this article, but I’m going to keep using the products and eating the gummies and will report back in a while. If you want to give some of the collection a try, visit the Vegamour website.
