Last Summer’s undeniably sexy fragrance hit was the limited edition Victoria’s Secret, The Summer Edition Eau de Parfum 1.7 fl. oz. This year Victoria’s Secret Bombshell The Summer Edition is back, featuring a light, girly, sexy, fruity floral scent that has a few new “bells & whistles” in the notes including starfruit in the top notes, jasmine dew in the heart, and white amber in the drydown. The 2012 version still features top notes of pink pomegranate, pear nectar, Italian bergamot, juicy nectarine, Japanese yuzu, pink grapefruit flower. The heart is all floral: wild muuet, exotic red tea, wild freesia, waterlily, hydroponic lily, and there’s a light base of creamy musk and cedarwood.
Victoria’s Secret Bombshell The Summer Edition for 2012 is an easy to understand, easy to wear fragrance that will smoothly span generations. While a young woman might wear it for “date night,” the more established woman will find it a good, “go to” for daytime, especially when the mercury, rises. The fruity/floral/vanilla scent appears to be a favorite with men, too. You smell the heart and the fruit, but in this version the bottom notes are just a mild nod. Still, the scent has substance, and plenty of sex appeal.
Last summer’s limited edition fragrance packaging offered a cheerful, outer carton featuring awning-stripes in colors of lime, apricot, hot pink, berry, and yellow green, on a white background, with hot pink and gold accents. This season the rainbow of colors is featured in the bold typeface announcing: “The Summer Edition” on the front of the box. There are pink and white awning stripes on the back, and some silver metallic accents (last season, they were gold).
For the Eau de Parfum, the octagonal bottle is a little gem that has a frosted top half and a white and hot pink square “emblem” on the front with The name of the fragrance on it. The back has the hot pink awning stripes, but you can still see the juice through the clear parts! The octagonal bottle wears a ribbed silver collar bearing a round, VS logo on the silver spray diffuser. The topper is a glittering, rectangular, hot pink “gem that’s lightly frosted. It is just the type of flirty packaging that Victorias Secret does so well to make even budget-minded women feel special. And yet with all that, this limited collection is very affordable!
