Vie En Rose sounds romantic, doesn’t it? This is a skincare brand created by actress, writer, and producer Malea Rose. For gifting or for yourself, Vie En Rose has two key beauty products. Her Mile High Ultra-Hydrating Mist and Love Potion Beauty Oil are great gifts or a little splurge for yourself.
According to the press literature, Vie En Rose is on the thumbs-up list from celebs such as Actresses Sydney Sweeney, Alice Kremelberg, and Connie (she says Vie En Rose skincare is “The only thing that she sees real results using“). Among others, “Tracy Cunningham (hair colorist to the stars–love her!), Paris Hilton, and even professional boxer Jake Paul who praises the products for “curing his acne.”
About Vie En Rose:
Made in the USA, Vie En Rose was built from the ground up by Malea herself. According to the information I received, Malea’s mom has been making organic skincare her whole life, helping her cure her own skin problems. So it was Malea’s mom who encouraged her daughter to launch a brand for all skin types, genders, ethnicities, and ages. Vie En Rose is focused mainly on premature anti-aging, anti-aging and posessing anti-inflammatory properties. She sources her CBD from the first FDA-approved Cannabis farm. The products are also Vegan, Clean, and Cruelty-free. And it’s good to know that the products are free of Phenoxyethanol, silicones, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, gluten, propylene glycol, synthetic dyes or synthetic fragrance, and GMOs.
Mile High Ultra-Hydrating Mist:
The first product I tried was the Vie En Rose Mile High Ultra-Hydrating Mist ($54/2 oz.). The frosted bottle with gorgeous rose gold spray diffuser dispenses a significant rose-scented mist that the press literature says is “made for travel.” If you like rose scents you will love it. Alpine rose stem cells and CBD (Cannarose™ Complex) is a collagen-boosting boon to dry, sensitive skin. I can see this as a wonderful travel companion if your seatmate doesn’t dislike the smell of roses. I wish this was in a plastic jar for travel, not glass, but it does look pretty.
The mist also has 30 potent botanicals, nourishing antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory vitamins. Apparently, this is also a bunch of ingredients derived from watermelon rind, ripened apple, organic aloe vera, and hyaluronic acid to deliver soothing hydration to dehydrated and inflamed skin. Swiss glacier water, coconut water, and rosewater offer more of a punch with electrolytes and H2O to balance oil and your skin’s pH.
As a reviewer, I know that what I like or don’t like is a personal matter and everyone is different. But I truly dislike rose fragrances. Otherwise, I would really love the mist especially during the days when dry heat and wind irritate your skin.
Love Potion Beauty Oil:
Love Potion Beauty Oil is a potent, fast-absorbing collagen-boosting face oil, for anywhere your skin needs some extra love. At $125 per ounce, it had better do something special. The glass bottle with dropper tip dispenses a quickly absorbed golden oil that is naturally rich with antioxidants, essential fatty acids, and anti-inflammatories. It is also full of rosehip, sea buckthorn, vitamins C and E, squalane, and 300mg broadspectrum CBD oil to nourish your skin. Two drops may be all that you need. The rose scent is more of a musky herbal than floral, but thankfully it is light.
My personal opinion after trying thousands of skincare items in my career is that CBD on its own isn’t what makes the product super-effective. It really is the combination of proven ingredients that makes the magic. In this case, the rosehip, sea buckthorn, and antioxidant Vitamins. This oil can do a lot and is calming and hydrating. It’s especially good for inflamed and sensitive skin. Oils can be oily but this one isn’t.
Get Lots of Use Out Of This Oil:
Layer the oil over a light veil of Vie En Rose Mile High Ultra-Hydrating Mist. Add it to your favorite daily moisturizer, body, or hand lotion, or whenever your skin needs a hydration boost. Apply to the tips of hair or scalp for a nourishing mask. Add a few drops to your hands, cuticles, and neck, and decollete.
The Bottom Line:
Perception is important when it comes to reviewing skincare. But also, experience with products counts. The ingredients (other than CBD) are proven great for your skin. It bothers me a bit that CBD is being touted in beauty products including Vie En Rose. I think it’s just trendy but not necessary. On the other hand, some people do really swear by CBD for everything from pain to sleep aids to what they put in their hair and in dog food. When it comes to beauty, however, I am focusing on the other good ingredients. If you want to try beauty products with CBD however, these are good ones.
