Grand Central Beauty Skin Perfecting Serum + Primer
What is a “Smart” skin primer? Well, it’s something that multi-tasks, effortlessly. The one I’m writing about today is the S.M.A.R.T Skin Perfecting Serum + Primer from Grand Central Beauty.
GrandCentralBeauty founders, Jackie Lee and Ginger King recently had an event at famed Henri Bendel to launch the third in their S.M.A.R.T. Skin Perfecting product line — the S.M.A.R.T. Skin Perfecting Serum + Primer $68.000 1.7 fl. oz. (the other two S.M.A.R.T products are a masque, and a an exfoliator).
So why are these products, S.M.A.R.T.?
The S.M.A.R.T. Skin Perfecting® products are named for their key benefits: Smoothing, Moisturizing, Anti-Aging, Redness-Reducing, Toning.
For starters, Grand Central Beauty’s S.M.A.R.T Skin Perfecting Serum + Primer is simply an excellent product. It features a proprietary formula and application process. The light liquid in a pump bottle is a multi-tasking skin-loving surprise that is very pleasant to use. It primes, it’s a serum, and it’s a moisturizer, and it also reduces redness, tones, and has anti-aging benefits. We’re not done yet though — over time it can de-puff dark circles under your eyes, and it can also help to make your makeup look better and last longer. That’s a lot for just one product. How smart!
The product is a bit pricey, so it’s a good thing it does so much. If I have any issues with it, my main complaint is that there is no sun protection. For some, this is not an issue because they add their own as an additional product, but for a multi-tasker like this, an SPF of 30+ would have made the product even more efficient for the busy person to use. The claim is for 24-hour moisturization, but it’s best for slightly oily to normal skin. If your skin is very dry, you may want to add another layer of moisturizer, too. So even though this product really does a lot, you might still have to layer other products with it.
On the plus side, it’s paraben, petrochemical, sulfate, and mineral oil free, and it is good for those with sensitive skin.
Note: if you want to use Grand Central Beauty’s S.M.A.R.T Skin Perfecting Serum + Primer to set your makeup, you should put your makeup on first. Then, rub a small amount onto your palm and gently pat over finished make-up.
