This morning I woke up and my skin felt dry, really dry. I thought “It’s almost the start of the new year and it’s the start of Winter Skincare Woes.” Sun, Snow, Wind, cold, and all sorts of skin saboteurs can really dry out your skin. However, I am suggesting a range of skincare products that really work, and are pleasing to use.
Sallye Ander has heavy-duty hydrators. #Payot offers elegant vegan oils to protect as well as provide a range of skin-loving benefits. #Baebody masks, gels, and more offer have proven ingredients to fight aging and dehydration. #Pura D’or helps to balance your scalp (it’s skin, too). #Good Faith Skincare showers your skin with kindness and protection and modest prices. #Marianella Rose Face Wash Cream smells like a rose garden. Therefore, I know you’ll find some great ideas to deal with Winter skincare woes, this year.
Sallye Ander Skincare:
Oil from Payot is A Thing:
Skin oils are trendy, but there’s a reason why tres chic Skin oils from Payot are beautifiers. Oils have molecules that are attracted to lipids (skin’s natural fats). Therefore, oils can penetrate into the skin, trapping water and other moisturizing benefits inside while protecting against toxins. They play a significant role in protecting and strengthening skin by holding in moisture, protecting the skin from damage, and keeping dirt and impurities out. They also aid the skin’s natural repair process. The ones I’m including from Payot are elegant in glass bottles that remind me of high-end fragrances.
If your skin is mature, maturing, and/or dry, try a face oil. The Payot Herbier Face Beauty Oil With Everlasting Flower Oil (front in photo – srp. $46) is certified cosmic organic by Ecocert. It’s made from just 7 ingredients that are 100% of natural origin. The star is the antioxidant organic everlasting flower essential oil (this plant is part of the daisy/sunflower family) bolstered with nourishing sunflower and healing olive oils. Use it as a serum before your other skincare is added for anti-aging benefits. A few drops of the oil from the dropper dip will whisk away your skincare woes.
The Payot Herbier Face and Eye Cleansing Oil (left in photo- srp. $24.50) is lovely to use and is super-great for Winter weary dry skin. Dispense a few drops from the bottle and massage it gently into your skin. Add some water to emulsify it (it turns milky) and then rinse it off with lots of water. Pat your skin dry. That’s it! This face oil can be used on the eye area as well. Eight 100% natural ingredients with the star being olive oil help to remove even hard-to dissolve waterproof makeup. It’s fabulous!
Your body deserves some pampering from Payot as well! The Herbier Revitalizing Body Oil with Thyme Essential Oil (right in photo- srp $41) has 6 natural, organic ingredients including thyme essential oil, In case you’re wondering, thyme oil is extracted from the leaf of the thyme plant. It has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties and some say it also helps to repel bugs (I didn’t test that). Thyme oil along with soya, olive, and sunflower oils melts into your skin with a dry finish. I didn’t smell the lemon scent, but Payot says it’s in there!
Payot has you covered, literally. The Herbier Nourishing Face and Body Massage Bar with Rosemary Essential Oil (srp. $21) blends 9 oils and butters into a soft solid bar that melts onto your skin. Payot says there is an herbal scent but I can’t smell it. No matter, the solid massage oil might be the next thing you take with you in your travels (use a closed soap container).
Note: Payot Herbier products are Vegan! There is so much more to love from Payot. You will want to pay a visit to the Payot website!
Happy Birthday Happy Body, Baebody!
The card that came with this cute cake pinata arrived on my desk a while back to celebrate Baebody’s 5th birthday. Along with the pinata were four products for dry and irritated skin that now I’m so thankful for! Reduce dark circles and under-eye puffiness with Baebody’s must-have Travel Eye Gel. This long-lasting gel has over 24,000 five-star reviews on Amazon. No wonder, because it’s packed with anti-aging ingredients such as Gotu Kola, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E, Amino Acid Blend, and the anti-aging peptide Matrixyl 3000. The orange box behind the Eye Gel holds Baebody’s Vit C Facial Serum. Apply to your face and neck after cleansing to help fight age spots help your skin look smooth and even. Vitamin E helps to protect skin from free radicals while Hyaluronic Acid deals with dry skin and wrinkles.
The two facial masks in my photo work in 10-15 minutes. The Aqua Boost Gel Face Mask hydrates with a blend of camellia seed oil, spirulina, and aloe juice. The Double Detox Gel Face Mask purifies and cleanses skin with a proven blend of charcoal, kaolin clay, and zinc. You can use the Double Detox Mask as a spot treatment for unexpected zits. Balance your Scalp for Healthier Hair:
It’s been known for a long time that apple cider vinegar is an all-natural ingredient that can help to deep-clean your hair and balance the pH of your scalp. Therefore, when dry itchy scalp starts to get really annoying, it is good to know that apple cider vinegar also has antibacterial and antifungal properties. To combat Winter skincare and scalp issues, I’m not suggesting that you dump a jar of vinegar on your head. I do suggest trying the Pura D’or Apple Cider Vinegar Thin2Thick Shampoo and Conditioner. The clarifying, moisturizing, restructuring, volumizing, and smoothing duo has a base of Apple Cider Vinegar.
This product has over 15 Key Active Ingredients such as Biotin, Castor Oil, and a powerful blend of natural, plant-based preservatives to help your scalp and hair look and feel healthier. The hypo-allergenic, vegan, cruelty-free products also add volume and shine. 16 fl. oz. plastic pump bottles of shampoo and conditioner are scented with apple and lavender and can be used on a daily basis. These ingredients can help boost the health of your scalp and hair and therefore help you see strength and hair growth, The shine and clean scalp feel has me reading for these all the time. Find them in mass-market retailers and on the Pura D’Or website. *I found a 24-oz set (48 fl. oz. total) on amazon for $47.19
Have Fait, Better Skin Will Come:
Good Faith promises ” Real results. Realistic prices. Made for all, in Good Faith.” There’s a lot of talk about individualism and kindness and so forth on the website and it gave me such a nice welcoming feeling. To combat Winter skincare woes, however, you’ll find plenty of products at modest prices for skincare. I tried the vegan Softening Moisturizer + Plant-based Squalene ($26) good for all skin types. The creamy moisturizer in an oxygen-free orange and tan pump. You don’t need much more than a dime-sized amount morning and night. Without getting too technical the plant-derived squalene is a natural, olive-derived emollient, BetaineAmino acid from sugar beets helps improve the skins’ retention of water. Glycerine attracts water to itself and helps to penetrate parts of the skin that need moisture the most. Sodium, hyaluronate helps to reduce dryness and leave skin with a neutral glow.
The information says it’s fragrance-free, but to my nose, there was a slight citrus scent. Maybe it’s the ingredients themselves, but it’s nice and uplifting. Brighten your day or maybe just see brighter skin with Good Faith’s Brightening + Vitamin C Serum ($28). This vegan and fragrance-free serum includes Vitamin C, Ascorbic Acid), to reduce dark spots, Soybean (Vitamin E) hydrates, smoothes, and softens skin, jojoba seed oil balanced oil production, and locks in moisture. Grapeseed oil has powerful antioxidants to combat the signs of aging. For more information visit the Good Faith Website.
In Skincare Everythings’ Coming Up Roses:
Plain bar soap can really dry out your skin, especially if it’s already irritated. A luxe way to clean your face, moisturize and minimize pores is with the lovely Rose Face Wash Cream by Marianella ($36). The jar of whipped creamy soap is redolent with a rose scent. Key ingredients of Rosehip Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Aloe Vera leaf extract make your skin soft and soothed while minimizing the size of your pores. While I’m not a fan of anything in a screw-top jar due to possible contamination, however, I’ll make an exception for this product, because it’s so lovely. Obviously, others agree as it has a number of five-star reviews. Treat yourself, especially if you love the smell of roses. Use it and everything will be “coming up roses” for your skin. Visit the Marianella website.
