There are plenty of things you can’t control, but when it comes to keeping your hair in place, in the style you envisioned, you can control your hair. The way to success is one of Redken’s hair sprays and styling products, but one in particular: Redken’s Control Addict 28 High-Control Hairspray ($20.00 for 11 oz.). If you haven’t tried it yet, you will want to read this feature. Special occasions are coming up faster than you can say “prom, graduation, weddings, Summer celebrations). If you want to keep your hair from being sabotaged by heat and humidity, and lock in your style, you’ll want to get yourself a can of Control Addict. The tall thin aluminum can spritzes out a fine aerosol spray mist of one of the best hairsprays The Advice Sisters have ever tried . It smells light and fresh, dries in a flash, and won’t leave your hair looking dull or flake-y later on. It’ll lock in your style, but you’ll still be able to “work it” and get a brush through it.
Control Addict 28 is just one of six different and very good hair sprays from Redken, but this one that just launched in March (although it was seen behind the scenes at Fashion Week), is the priciest in the collection.
So why would you pay more for a new hairspray when the others work well and you already love them?
One reason is that is is a very strong hold. If you’re going to wear an updo or a chignon, or dance at prom, weddings, graduations, or you just need your style to stay put because you won’t have time to fix it, this is a product you can rely on. When the cameras are on you, you need to know that your hair looks good, and be confident it will stay that way. The can of Control Addict, can assure you. There’s nothing sadder than a bride whose hair has wilted. Remember Princess Diana on her wedding day? Her hair flopped, but she didn’t have Redken Control Addict to help her out.
Even better this hair spray has antioxidants (from Vitamin E) that help protect your hair against “environmental aggressors” (e.g. uncle Larry’s cigar smoke in your face at the family table or posing in the sun for what seems like hours, as a bridesmaid at your friend’s beach-side wedding). It even will help reduce color fade.
Beauty Top: A product this strong doesn’t need to be doused on your hair at very close range. Hold the nozzle about 8-12 inches away. Spray lightly, then go back over your style in layers until you get the “lacquer” strength you desire.
Redken’s Creative Consultant Guido Palau used this new Control Addict 28 High Control Hairspray to create a sleek, controlled pony on the models backstage for the Fall 2013 Diesel Black Gold runway show , but The Advice Sisters are offering some “how-to” right here to help you make a low bun that is elegant, easy, and fast. This classic style is good for special events, or every day.
How to Make a sleek bun:
Make a low side ponytail and secure it with an elastic (clear or matching your hair color is best).
Section the pony into two parts and spray each liberally with Redken Conotrol Addict. Then twist the two into one.
Holding the twisted pony, wrap it into a bun and secure it with bobby pins (try to get ones that match your hair color)
To keep that bun where you want it, add more Redken Control Addict hair spray.
*for date night, parties and special events, dress up your bun with a sparkly pin or a piece of hair jewelry, or even a fresh or faux flower
