Get Better Water. Zero Water filters the “gunk” out
Alison Blackman for advicesisters.com
Everything living on this planet needs water to survive. But there’s water, and then there’s good water so that’s why we love the ZeroWater 8 Cup Stainless Steel Pitcher by Zero Technologies.
The pitcher is attractive, but the real point of Zero Water is that it makes your water more safe, pure and better tasting. The 5-stage unique filtration system in it actually will remove up to 99.6% of all dissolved solids (including chromium) in your water. The company is so sure this claim is correct, they include a water tester with your pitcher.
Simple & Easy
This is such a simple and easy way get the best benefits and pleasure from water.
ZeroWater claims that conventional filtered water still has some TDS (total dissolved solids) such as salt, metals and other elements because they don’t use a five-step filter, and while not all TDS are bad (some are from natural deposits), others are from man-made sources like old piping, road salts, leaves, etc. You can’t see them but you can taste them.
All you have to do to transform your water into ZERO Water is install the filter and fill the pitcher with the water from your tap. The ZeroWater’s patented ion exchange filter clears the water as it slowly filter through 5 different stages.
The Filter:
You can’t see the filter layers as they’re enclosed in plastic. The first filter near the top removes fine particles and sediment.
The second layer is a multi-layer system that uses activated carbon and oxidation reduction alloy, the third is a distributor that maximizes contact time in the filter.
A fourth layer has an ion exchange array,
And there’s anoteher layer of non-woven membrane that catches anything that slipped through the other filter layers.
Obviously if your water is visibly yellow or brown you will use the filter up faster, but if your water is reasonably clean and you aren’t refilling the pitcher every day, just use the included water testing meter to check when it’s time for a new filter.
The Zero Water is lab-certified for 15 gallons per filter but depending upon use. One filter will treat about 30 gallons of water depending upon how many solids are being filtered out in your water.
Obviously, the less detritus, the longer the filters will last. A dozen refills cost $29.99 ($14.99 per filter +$7.00 shipping).
A Zero Water pitcher is cost effective if you consider the cost of bottled water (or unhealthy bottled drinks) per week. Your tea and coffee will also taste better and you probably wouldn’t use expensive bottled water for that purpose.
The only issue I have with the Zero Water Pitcher is the weigh of the pitcher because the filters are heavy.
While it doesn’t take up any more room than any other pitcher of the same size, once it’s filled with water and the filter is in place, it’s pretty heavy to lift.
However, the convenience of always having great water to drink, and to cook with (coffee and tea taste so much better).
You might find that everyone wants the Zero Water more than bottles and canned items.
Important Tip: be sure that the filter is twisted in tightly to the bottom of the reservoir insert with the attached rubber O-ring in place, or unfiltered water may flow around the filter and into the dispenser.
